What is there to do in the area?
GaiaZoo
GaiaZoo has been voted the 'Best Day Out of the Netherlands' several times. This is because it is a unique zoo in the South Limburg hills. Here you can see animals from all over the world. You'll stand eye to eye with red pandas, zebras and giraffes, or you'll spot wolverines and gorillas. In the limburgHUIS you will discover endangered species from our own soil.

Steam Train 'Miljoenenlijn'
Take a nostalgic trip on the steam or diesel train that winds its way through the South Limburg hills. You can choose from two routes along the Million Line' of the South Limburg Steam Train Company: between Kerkrade and Schin op Geul or between Simpelveld and Vetschau in Germany.
Three Country Point and Vaalserberg
Climb the highest point in the Netherlands and see three countries lying at your feet. You can do this at the Vaalserberg, which, with a height of 322.40 meters above sea level, is the highest point in the Netherlands. Nearby you will find the Three Country Point where you can look out over the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany from the Wilhelmina Tower. Nearby you can also get lost in the labyrinth
Brunssummerheide
During a walk or a bike ride you will see all shades of purple, gray and green pass you by in the colorful nature reserve Brunssummerheide. Deciduous forest, coniferous forest, sand plains and heaths alternate here. Thanks to the gentle slopes, this area is also very popular with mountain bikers. Along the way you may come across a herd of grazing Schoonebeker sheep who 'maintain' this nature reserve.

Cozy park with friendly staff. With questions you are helped as quickly as possible. Also for a stay with dog(s) is well organized with enough garbage cans and poop bags every so many meters. Really top!

Beautiful location for hikers and cyclists. Quiet location and beautiful location on the outskirts of Brunssum and on the edge of the Brunssummerheide.

Enjoyed the clean little park. You feel like you are abroad because of the different construction of the cottages and the small hills.

The Brunssummerheide is just about the backyard of the holiday park. Wander through this typical Limburg hilly landscape by bike or on foot. The varied landscape full of deciduous forests, coniferous forests, heathland and sandy plains is also extremely popular with mountain bikers. Whatever time of year you come, the landscape always looks different thanks to the many shades of purple, green and gray. Besides, there would be no Brunssummerheide without the Schoonebeek sheep. The flock of sheep ensures that the landscape is neatly maintained.
Vibrant cities and mining past
Vibrant cities and mining past
Not only can you enjoy nature in EuroParcs Brunssummerheide, cities such as Aachen, Heerlen and Maastricht are just around the corner. Discover the past by visiting the oldest bathhouse in the Netherlands in the Thermenmuseum or visit Hoensbroek Castle. The Dutch Mining Museum in Heerlen brings back memories of the region's mining past. Not unlike the Monument of Staatsmijn Hendrik in Brunssum, where the deepest mine shaft in the Netherlands was located with a depth of 1058 meters. It is also fun to spot animals in GaiaZoo in Kerkrade or to whiz down the slopes of SnowWorld in Landgraaf, the largest indoor ski resort in the world. In any case, you will find yourself abroad at EuroParcs Brunssummerheide: not only because of the hilly landscape, but also because of the architectural style of the wooden accommodations.
Parts of the park are quite hilly and are therefore less suitable for people with mobility problems. Be well informed in advance where your accommodation is located.
